SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of engaging hydrodynamic brake at well drilling and servicing installation. In compliance with first version, proposed method consists in determining drum rpm, comparing drum rpm with maximum magnitude, engaging automatically hydrodynamic brake if drum rpm exceeds maximum tolerable rpm. In compliance with second version, method consists in determining well installation hook load, comparing said load with maximum tolerable value, and engaging hydrodynamic brae automatically is drum hook load exceeds maximum tolerable magnitude. In compliance with third version, comprises both above described jobs.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of brake at drilling or servicing installation.
