FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of purifying hydrocarbon mixtures from sulphur-containing heterocyclic compounds, involving extraction of sulphur-containing compounds from the organic phase into ionic liquids, separation of the hydrocarbon phase from the ionic liquid and electrochemical regeneration of the ionic liquid. The ionic liquid used is: 1-methyl-3-butylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (MBImBF4), 1-methyl-3-octylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (MOImBF4), containing dissolved nitrates of transition metals selected from a group comprising cobalt, nickel, iron, copper, as well as cobalt (II) complexes: 4,5-dicarboxyphthalocyanine, N,N-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine.
EFFECT: improved quality of hydrocarbon material owing to more complete removal of sulphur-containing organic substances.
