FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the purification of hydrocarbon feedstock containing sulfur compounds by extracting sulfur compounds (SC) into an ionic liquid modified with transition metal salts, and can be used in the refining and petrochemical industries. Method of purification of diesel fuel from sulfur-containing compounds involves the extraction of sulfur-containing compounds from the organic phase into ionic liquids and the separation of the hydrocarbon fraction from the ionic liquid. Ionic liquids are used for extraction based on substituted imidazolium cation with anion bromide: 1,3-dibutylamidazolium bromide (1,3BImBr) or 1-octyl3-butylimidazolium bromide (1O3BImBr) or 1-nonyl3-butylimidazolium bromide (1H3BImBr) containing dissolved compounds or bromides, or chlorides, or trifluoroacetate of transition metals selected from the group: cobalt, copper, manganese. Volume ratio of hydrocarbon fraction : ionic liquid is 2:1–4:1.

EFFECT: technical result consists in the effective implementation of the process of refining petroleum products from sulfur-containing compounds.
