FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus has a multiple-beam interferometre and a detector. The multiple-beam interferometre is in form of a fibre-optic circular channel having a light guide, an X-type splitter and a phase modulator connected to each other, where the X-type splitter has transmission coefficient between ports which enables multiple circulation of optical radiation inside the circular channel. The splitter is optically connected by two of its ports to the light guide which is part of the circular channel. The third and fourth ports of the splitter are input and output optical ports.
EFFECT: high resolution of the apparatus.
