SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of timber rafting and may be used to transport wood to consumer by water. Float unit for wood transportation consists of round timber, where wood is arranged into accumulators that serve as bundle tie and natural float and are made of round timber, joined to each other by means of longitudinal and transverse bag boom sticks, and also by ties at sides. The novelty is the fact that accumulator is made of timber exposed to atmospheric drying, with ends treated with bitumen mastic, accumulators have stiffening ribs at sides made of boards or small-dimension logs, nailed with metal brackets, besides, ties at sides are arranged as flexible of steel ropes or chains, at end accumulators there is a net fixed of steel rope to fix wood ends, besides, apart from natural float the device comprises an artificial float in the form of air-filled rubber chamber with elements of fixing to float unit, wood laid into float unit is arranged with the possibility to tie it on top with rigging.

EFFECT: invention provides for delivery of wood that lost its floatability, and also newly cut wood with limited floatability margin, elimination of metal-intense and low-efficient equipment usage.
