FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: tested object is irradiated in research reactor radiation field. Note here that absorbed doses of neutrons and gamma-radiation inside (crew workstations) and outside tested object are measured to define total radiation dose attenuation ratio (Kp). Tests results are transferred from reactor radiation field onto that of the source with combined power spectrum of neutrons in the ratio of Ksi=εi-Kpi, where Ksi is total attenuation ratio of total radiation dose from the source with combined power spectrum of neutrons, and εi is constant of proportionality defined from functional relationships Kp(s), Ks(s) and ε(Kp) set using model equivalent in protection characteristics, where s is armor thickness in model specimen wall.
EFFECT: forecasting protective properties.
