SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for catalytic carboxylation of alkylene oxides with carbon dioxide in the presence of a catalyst composition and water, where the catalyst composition contains an alkali metal halide and a macro-cyclic chelating compound and where water is present in amount of at least 0.05 mol per mole of alkylene oxide.
EFFECT: high conversion and rate of the process.
