FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engines. Rotary engine contains reciprocating pistons and rotor located in N-section body, where N is equal to three, four, six or any even number more than six. Reciprocating pistons slide in corresponding body holes. Rotor is performed axially symmetric and N-sectional correspondingly. Rotor is installed with the possibility of rotation about its central axis that is simultaneously appears to be engine symmetry axis. Rotor active surfaces together with curved active N surfaces of simultaneously operating pistons of rectangular cross-section facing the rotor form N working chambers of variable volume. In working chambers operating cycles follow each other as in two-stroke or four-stroke engine. Combustion products influence rotor active surfaces. Rotor active surfaces have curved form that provides the creation of rotary moment in relation to rotor central axis that is summed up with rotary moments that appear as a result of pistons movement. The pistons are kinematically connected via crank-and-rod mechanisms with crank shafts that are synchronised with the help of gear drive with rotor rotation.
EFFECT: improvement of operating parameters.
