FIELD: physics; geophysics.

SUBSTANCE: helmet is part of a set of workstation equipment for an orbital station having an onboard notebook computer, a helmet cap, a helmet-mounted module for a micromechanical strapdown attitude reference system of the helmet, a transparent folding visor and a channel for receiving polarised light flux reflected from the underlying surface. The reception channel is in form of a helmet-mounted module for receiving the signal from the line of vision of the helmet. The transparent folded visor is made from a analyser monocrystal for transmitting light flux having horizontal polarisation, on which a film of a light filter with 550-650 nm bandwidth is sprayed. Elements of the reception module are mounted and connected in series under helmet cap: light-collecting lens, a photodiode multiplier, an analogue-to-digital converter, flash memory, a radio interface for transmitting the detected polarised signal of the detected anomaly synchronously with angular positions of the helmet.

EFFECT: fast and reliable detection and identification of earthquake foci and predicting parametres of the expected seismic impact.
