FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: optical density of the atmosphere is measured by a group of spaced apart photometers. Measurements are taken in spectral sections with wavelength 340, 380, 440, 500, 675, 870, 1020 nm. The behaviour of change in difference of the weighted average wavelength of the current solar spectrum and a reference solar spectrum is determined. The place, time and magnitude of the possible seismic impact is determined based on the determined behaviour.
EFFECT: rapid, resource-intensive and reliable method of predicting earthquakes.
