SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an ink cartridge for feeding ink into a recording device. According to the invention, the cartridge has a main housing having a first wall and a front wall which intersects with the first wall, a sector of connecting electrodes on part of the said first wall of the main housing of the ink cartridge and having at least one connecting electrode which is electrically connected to a memory element, an ink supply sector on the said front wall, and a channel for accommodating the positioning element of the cartridge holder with ink of the recording device on the front wall. The central line of the channel lies within the width of the sector of connecting electrodes when looking in the direction of entrance of the ink cartridge.

EFFECT: maintaining the required relative position of the sector of connecting electrodes of the cartridge relative the cartridge holder of the recording device.
