SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to marine medicine, can be used in diving medical practice for ensuring higher diving safety. The anamnesis and medical examination data are estimated and an index of physiological fitness of divers (IPFD) is calculated by formula: IPFD=(SW2/ST2)-(SW1/ST1)+0.1·(6-InE)+0.01·(OT-20)+0.02·(OA-10), where SW1 is a required diver's underwater annual rate (h); ST1 is a required diver's annual standing (months); SW2 is an actual annual underwater time (h); ST2 is an actual diver's annual standing (months); InE is an Erisman index (cm); OT is orthostatic test data; OA is Aschner oculocardiac test data, and if the value is 4.3 and less, divers are considered to a physiologically trained group, and if the value is more than 4.3 - to a physiologically untrained group.
EFFECT: method allows to ensure diving safety.
