COAGULANT-ADSORBENT FOR CLEANING INDUSTRIAL WASTES FROM HEAVY METALS, METHOD OF PRODUCING COAGULANT-ADSORBENT FOR CLEANING INDUSTRIAL WASTES FROM HEAVY METALS AND METHOD OF USING COAGULANT-ADSORBENT FOR CLEANING INDUSTRIAL WASTES FROM HEAVY METALS Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC C02F1/52 C02F1/28 C02F1/64 C02F103/04

Abstract RU 2411191 C1

FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ecology, particularly to the technology of cleaning industrial wastes from heavy metals. The disclosed coagulant-adsorbent contains oxides, oxo- and hydroxo-complexes of aluminium, iron, calcium and sodium, with the following ratio of said components in terms of oxides: aluminium oxide - not less than 15 wt %, iron oxide - not less than 8 wt %, calcium oxide - not less than 20 wt %, sodium oxide - not more than 5 wt %, sulphur oxide - not more than 5 wt %, titanium oxide - not more than 2 wt %, water - not more than 10 wt %, oxide impurities which include: Cr2O3 - not more than 0.4 wt %, MnO - not more than 0.5 wt %, K2O - not more than 0.5 wt %, P2O5 - not more than 0.3 wt %, chlorine oxide - not more than 0.10 wt %, whose total is not more than 2 wt %, silicon oxide - the rest. The method of producing the coagulant-adsorbent involves preparation of a mixture from moist red mud from alumina production and aluminium oxide or aluminium hydroxide, drying the mixture and grinding the dried solid phase. Use of the coagulant-adsorbent involves adding an aqueous suspension of the coagulant-adsorbent with concentration of not more than 17% to industrial wastes containing heavy metals in amount of not more than 50 g/m3 of industrial wastes with intense stirring for not less than 1 minute.

EFFECT: invention considerably increases efficiency of cleaning while significantly lowering the price of cleaning and reducing labour input.
