FIELD: technology of cleaning natural water in the course of water treatment and physico-chemical cleaning of sewage from toxic compounds, both of natural and technogenious nature with the aid of various coagulants; health of human being and environmental control. SUBSTANCE: coagulant is activated by calcium aluminate which contains aluminum compounds, silicon oxide, calcium oxide, ferric oxide, sodium oxide, magnesium oxide and sulfur dioxide; this coagulant is produced through treatment of sludge - intermediate product of alumina production process; treatment is performed by means of 2-% aqueous solution of sodium bicarbonate and sodium sulfate at ratio of 1:1 continued during 5 minutes and followed by separation, drying and grinding of sediment. Cleaning of sewage and natural water is effected with the aid of activated calcium aluminate in form of aqueous suspension in the amount no less than 3 mg/cu.dm at mixing continued for at least 0.1 min. New coagulant is actually absorbent and on surface of particles of suspension ions of heavy metals and their hydroxides and basic salts which are dissolved in water are adsorbed. Particles of dispersed phase of suspension are centers of flocculation and are weighting material simultaneously, thus accelerating the coagulation process and consequently enhancing efficiency of cleaning water. Since aluminum is introduced in form of practically insoluble compounds, residual content of aluminum ions is absent which enhances degree of cleaning water.
