FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: piston engine with piston includes upper housing of piston, which consists of the head receiving the combustion pressure and the land to which piston ring is attached, and skirt located on lower side of upper piston housing. At that, upper piston housing is diverted from axial line of piston towards counter-pressure side; upper end surface of upper piston housing and outer end surface of the skirt section having the maximum diametre are aligned in vertical direction; between outer end surface of upper piston housing and inner surface of cylinder on the pressure side there is the gap; in the piston land section above the groove of the second piston ring between the first and the second piston rings attached to outer end surface of upper piston housing there located is gas chamber; on upper part of inner surface of cylinder on pressure side there are multiple grooves, and when piston is located at upper dead point or near it, gas under high pressure above the piston is supplied to annular gas chamber through the grooves, and the piston is supported with high pressure gas supplied to gas chamber from pressure side.

EFFECT: reducing losses for friction between piston ring, cylinder and groove in the piston, and increasing cooling efficiency of upper part of the piston and combustion rate of fuel-and-gas mixture.
