FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical instruments and can be used for prevention of traumatic injuries from the side of anterior parts of nose at the background of carrying out method of respiratory support CPAP in newborn babies, including prematurely born babies. Nasal cannula-protector for newborn babies contains attachable case with two working tubes on lateral surface and detachable external nose protector in form of plate from silicon material from 1×1 cm to 1×1.5 cm in size. Plate has holes for installation on meddle sections of working tubes, made with external diametres reduced on 0.1-0.5 mm with respect to external diametres of end sections. Distance between central axes of working tubes equals 5-15 mm. At the ends of attachable case two installation supports are placed. Installation supports are oriented at obtuse angles to lateral surface of attachable case, which has working tubes.

EFFECT: ensuring prevention of nasal septum necrosis, infection of anterior nose parts, external nose deformations, formation of synechias in nasal cavity due to sparing impact of cannula on soft tissues of newborn baby, protection of external nose, as well as adequate respiratory support due to prevention of cannula-protector displacement.
