FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to neonatology, and can be used for prevention and treatment of nasal tissue damage in premature newborns 220-296 weeks of gestation, which are on non-invasive respiratory therapy. If nasal skin hyperemia is detected in the area of contact with nasal interfaces, a patch is applied on the patient's skin along the central line of the nose from the area between eyebrows along the bridge of the nose, the nasal septum to the upper lip so that when using the nasal mask the lower edge of the mask is located on the patch. At the same time in patients in gestation period 220-296 weeks the patch is used from the moment of the respiratory therapy beginning till the child reaches the conceptual age of more than 296 weeks, and in patients aged 295-296 weeks of gestation – three days from the moment of the respiratory therapy beginning.
EFFECT: method enables reducing the incidence of nasal tissue injuries in newborns and reducing the severity thereof by creating an oxygen-free medium promoting exudate absorption, accelerated epithelisation, formation of capillaries and granulation tissue.
