FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed unit comprises housing with its outer part furnished with annular container filled with water and ice and water drain branch pipe. Housing top and bottom accommodate hot air flow inlet and outlet tubes, while housing inner chamber is communicated with atmosphere. Electric heater is arranged inside inlet tube. Said electric heater is connected to wattmetre and lab transformer located outside. Flow mixer is arranged above electric heater. Note here that hot air inlet and outlet tubes and tubular annulus have branch pipes to receive thermocouples. Hot air flow inlet and outlet tube have tapered chambers intercommunicated by four tubes. Note also that housing additionally incorporates cover and tube plates. Chamber taper is formed by the housing inner walls, tube plates, cover 16 and housing bottom.

EFFECT: efficient heating of air flow, high accuracy of heat flow measurement.
