SUBSTANCE: intelligent interface module installed in field conditions has at least one connection port for data transfer which is configured to connect with a data network, as well as at least one port for connection with a processor, which is configured to connect with a field device bus, and also has a controller and memory which is connected to the controller. The controller is configured to provide a function of a higher order relative one or more field devices and/or field device bus. The higher order functions contain calibration support, complex device support, diagnosis support, distributed control system support and virtual field device functions.
