FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: orbital diversity of satellites-retranslators (SR) is chosen within 2[arcsin(RE/RGSO)+arcsin(RE/RLOSmin)] to 2[arcsin(RE/RGSO)+arcsin(RE/RLOSmin)], where RE - radius of the Earth considering the height of atmospheric layer, RGSO - radius of geostationary orbit, RLOSmin - minimum radius of LOS (low-orbiting spacecraft) orbit. Connection of LOS to SR is performed within the opening angle of ±Θ=180°-arcsin[RE/(RE+Hmax)], where Hmax - maximum flight level of low-orbiting spacecraft (LOS) oriented in the direction from the centre of the Earth and reckoned at all values of azimuth relative to the straight line connecting the centre of the Earth to LOS location point; at that, connection of LOS to SR is performed within the opening angle of ±Θ=180o-arcsin[RE/(RE+Hmax)], where Hmax -maximum LOS flight level, which is oriented in the direction from the centre of the Earth and reckoned at all azimuth values relative to the straight line connecting the centre of the Earth to LOS location point.
EFFECT: rendering global service by using geostationary satellites-retranslators to low-orbiting spacecrafts at any point of their possible orbital position.
