FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in grinding billets operated in friction conditions. Solid material is pressed to working surface of revolving grinding wheel, solid material hardness and heat resistance being lower than those of grinding wheel abrasive material. Said pressed material is antifriction metal material that features higher adhesion activity than that of ground billet compared with grounding wheel abrasive material. At finishing stage, lubricant-coolant feed is terminated and metal material is pressed.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance due to formation of strong and wear-resistant micro- and nanostructures on billet surface.
