FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of producing cellular structures and device to this end. This method uses parallel plates of plastic-base composition continuously extruded horizontally through extrusion head. Extrusion head has front surface with multiple parallel slots and insulation material on said surface. Zones between to adjacent plates are subjected to compressed gas injection and rarefaction. Note here that one side of given plate is subjected to compressed gas action while the other is subjected to rarefaction and visa versa to deform said plates and produce cellular structure in plane, approximately, parallel to direction of extrusion.
EFFECT: light cellular structures, wide range of viscosities and temperatures, simplified design of extrusion head.
