FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present group of inventions refers to development of medicated and hygienic agents for treating teeth, gums and a tongue. Offered is a composition for oral care representing a suspension containing a polytetrafluoroethylene powder of particle size within the range 0.1 to 500 micron, a solvent, a surface-active substance (SAS), a bactericidal additive, a preserving agent and deionised water in a certain ratio. As a solvent, the composition contains ethyl alcohol, propyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol, as surface-active substances - the substances chosen from a group of anionic active SAS or nonionogenic SAS or a mixture, as a bactericidal additive - chlorhexidine digluconate, biozole(4-isopropyl methylphenol) or triclosan. Also, offered is an oral care agent containing said composition as an ingredient.
EFFECT: oral care composition and agent of polytetrafluoroethylene powder suspension of particle size within the range 0,1 to 500 micron reduces substantially both specific, and nonspecific bacterial adherence to tooth enamel, inhibiting cariesogenic and parodontopathogenic microflora.
