METHOD TO TREAT WASTE WATERS OF RECULTIVATED REFUSE DUMPS Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC B09C1/08 C02F11/14 C02F1/62 

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection, to municipal engineering, namely, to method for treatment of waste waters from refuse dumps with solid wastes (SW) in warm period of time (spring-summer-autumn) at air temperature of at least 0° and may be used for highly loaded dumps. To implement the method, multilayer recultivation coating is previously created with fertile surface and water-balance layers at refuse dump. Vegetation is planed on fertile layer, and as it achieves active vegetation phase, it is sprayed with waste waters of SW refuse dumps treated with solution of lime milk Ca(OH)₂ up to pH=8.0-8.5 as 3-4 mm per day. Total quantity of distributed SW waste waters pre-treated with Ca(OH)₂ should not exceed 500 mm/year. Recirculation is temporarily terminated as pH of surface fertile layer reaches values of pH≥9.0. Water balance layer with height of at least 15 cm is represented by polymer wastes. Height of fertile layer makes at least 15 cm in case of herbal vegetation and at least 30 cm in case of arboreal vegetation.

EFFECT: intensification of waste waters treatment from organic and mineral contaminants, and also high concentrations of heavy metals and provision of possibility for more efficient management of waste waters treatment process at recultivated SW refuse dump.
