METHOD TO INSPECT ELECTRIC WINDINGS FOR TURN-TO-TURN SHORT CIRCUIT Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC G01R31/06

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: white noise signal from generator 1 is simultaneously sent to two windings 10, 11. Measurements are taken with the help of ultrasonic range spectrum analyser 2 and two resistors of identical nominal 5, 6 joined to its inlets 3, 4. Resistors 5, 6 are joined to each other serially to form a common point, which is connected to common output 8 of generator 1 and common output 9 of analyser 2. Accordingly outputs 14, 15 of windings 10, 11 are connected to inputs 3, 4 of analyser 2, and outputs 12, 13 of windings 10, 11 are joined with generator 1. A measurement result will be values of current ratios passing through windings 10, 11, for any frequency of white noise signal, represented as curve of transfer ratio. If curve deviates from a straight horizontal line with ordinate equal to one, a conclusion is made on availability of turn-to-turn short circuit.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of inspection through elimination of noise and accidental failures.
