FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: procedure for production of anode mass for self-baking anode of aluminium electrolyser consists in introduction of inhibiting additive into anode mass. Into raw anode mass as an additive there are introduced wastes of ethylene production at amount of 0.5-20 % wt - heavy resin of hydrocarbons pyrolysis of oil origin corresponding to a viscous fluid of density not over 1.04 g/cm3 at 20°C. It contains aromatic hydrocarbons C6 and higher and not less, than 25 wt % of naphthalene and methyl-naphthalene.
EFFECT: raised performance characteristics of aluminium production.
