FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: displacement sensors mounted on an automobile are used to create a computer model and analysis of the position of the automobile relative real detector lines is replaced with analysis of intersection on the computer model. Implementation of the disclosed method involves fitting the automobile with sensors for its positioning relative the surface of the racetrack. Information from the sensors enters an onboard computer. After real-time processing, a computer model of the position of the automobile is created. Simultaneously, detector lines are set on the computer using software, where the said lines correspond to the lay-out of the test element on the field of the racetrack, and their mutual location relative the automobile is analysed.
EFFECT: avoiding a cumbersome and unreliable network of detector lines on the field of the automobile racetrack.
