FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for production of composite ingots by direct-cooling casting. Proposed device comprises rectangular casting mould 13 with walls 14 and cooled jacket 15. Coolant flow 16 is fed from jacket onto ingot 17 leaving the mould. Casting mould inlet is divided by walls 19 into three chambers wherein inner layer 12 and, at least, outer layer 11 are formed. Inner layer materials may feature higher compression factor compared with that of outer clad layer. Surface 40 of dividing wall 19 in contact with metal is arranged inclined from outer layer metal toward downward. Inclination angle is increased in zones spaced from central zone of walls and located nearby each of the wall lengthwise end.
EFFECT: higher ingot quality due to elimination of fracture.
