FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. For casting composite ingot at least two flows of fused metal are fed into two or more chambers of direct-cooling continuous casting plant mould. Inlet temperatures of said flows are measured nearby casting chamber inlet whereto flow is fed. Inlet temperatures are compared with preset temperature setting for said flow to detect possible deviation. Then, casting process variable is corrected, for example, casting rate affecting the fused metal temperature at inlet of or inside casting chambers by magnitude calculated proceeding from the difference between measured temperatures. Preferably, correction is selected to make measured temperature to be set to setting magnitude.
EFFECT: ruled out negative effects on casting from deviation of inlet temperature from setting.
