SUBSTANCE: developed electrode for an electric arc furnace comprises graphite cylindrical sections, having anisotropy of specific electric resistance at the ends and joined by means of threaded joints, at the same time cylindrical sections and threaded joints are furnished with each other so that tightness of threaded joints relates to tightness of cylindrical sections as (1.06÷1.11):1.
EFFECT: reduced specific consumption of electrodes.
