FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopaedics. Substance of the method consists in the fact that an external fixation apparatus is applied on involves finger or toe joints. Gradual distraction is used to position a finger or a toe so that to be opposed to the deformation. Thereafter, tendolysis is performed by means of sequential gradual distraction of phalanxes at a level of each joint. The finger or toe is stabilised in the apparatus in the expanded position for 12-14 days. Then, the apparatus is removed; joint movements are worked out intensively; and the finger or toe is splinted in the position opposed to the deformation.
EFFECT: use of the given invention allows to reduce injures, to improve cosmetic and functional therapeutic effects in joint contractures, prevents recurrent contractures, reduces length of treatment in the patients.
