FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil industry and may be used for cleaning edge waters of oil and mechanical impurities extracted together with oil. Proposed settling tank is made up of horizontal cylindrical reservoir divided by webs into compartments, i.e. inlet, preliminary and final settling. One of said webs is dead to allow the fluid to flow below it. Note that web bottom edge is toothed. Another web is made up of a set of settlers representing inclined plates arranged at an angle to each other to overlap reservoir working section. Water feed pipeline is brought into inlet compartment and, further, into water distributor made up of perforated tube. Oil distributor and mass exchange nozzle are arranged one above the other while pure oil feed pipeline is brought to oil distributor to produce hydrophobic layer. Gas and oil bleed pipelines are connected to dead web and set of settlers connected with oil-and-gas collector.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of cleaning.
