FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed invention may be used in fuel treatment, for example, coal treatment at conversion plant. Fuel is aerified in the presence of calcium-containing compound and steam to produce crude synthesis gas containing carbon monoxide and steam. Dolomite or calcite is used as calcium-containing compound. Halogen-containing compounds are removed from crude synthesis gas. Synthesis gas is directed to steam catalytic conversion stage whereat carbon monoxide and steam contained in crude synthesis gas are converted into carbon dioxide and hydrogen. Converted gas thus produced is brought in contact with solid sulfur sorbent based on metals or metal oxides. Then, purified converted gas is removed from solid sulfur sorbent and said sorbent is regenerated. Said solid sorbent is regenerated at 400-500°C on passing steam flow there through, steam pressure being 0.2-0.5 MPa higher than gasification pressure, in direction opposite the converted gas flow direction. Here, flow of carbon sulphide-containing steam is produced to be directed directly to gasification stage.
EFFECT: simplified sulfur extraction from gases produced at gasification plant.
