FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: fastening element has a fastening part, substantially a tubular riveting section and a ring-shaped surface of contact with sheet metal. On the riveting section there are criteria of the form, such as ledges and/or grooves, providing for its joint motion with the sheet metal part in process of the riveting collar formation. The specified ledges and/or grooves are arranged at the free end of the riveting section and/or on radially external side of the riveting section at least in the area adjacent to the free end of the riveting section. Invention also relates to a subassembly, which comprises the specified fastening element and a sheet metal part with a hole. At the same time the ring-shaped surface of contact with sheet metal contacts with the sheet metal part at its one side. The riveting section passes through the hole in the sheet metal part, and the edge area of the sheet metal part hole is bent backwards and a section of the edge area of the sheet metal part, which is bent backwards, is fully coated with the area with bent edge of the riveting section. Invention also relates to the method of fixation of the specified fastening element on the sheet metal part.
EFFECT: fixture is simple in design and does not form chips onto the sheet part.
