FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises producing gate-and-feed system by sequential arrangement of sprue base and standard tapered shell elements one above the other. Standard elements are made from refractory material, e.g. fire-clay grog. Moulds with feeders are fitted in cutouts made on lateral surface of said gate-and-feed system. Two to five layers of refractory suspension are applied and dried, investment patterns are produced and moulds are calcinated.
EFFECT: higher strength of moulds, ruling out using of base filler.
