FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises producing hollow tapered shell elements 2 and sprue base 1 from fire-clay grog or any other refractory material to assemble gate-and-feed system thereof. Cutouts 4 are made on lateral surfaces of shell elements. Investment patterns are used to make shell moulds 5 with feeders. Shell moulds 5 with feeders are fitted into said cutouts 4. Produced structure is arranged in flax with filler for metal to be poured therein.
EFFECT: higher strength of shell moulds and reduced costs due to use of cheap refractory material.
