FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of producing composite material to fabricate artificial stone from mineral filler, synthetic resin and binder. To produce said stone, mixed are 3 to 10% by wt of matrix cross-linked resin with at least 80% by wt of total amount of silica or calcareous mineral in the form of particles, and 0.05 - 5.0% by wt of acrylic phosphate to obtain homogeneous mass. Obtained mass is arranged in mould and subjected to vibrations to reduce mass volume. Then, said mass in pressed in the mould in vacuum unless initial mix volume reduces by, at least, 40% for matrix resin to be cross-linked. Thus, high-strength mineral composite material is produced with high content of mineral.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance, hardness, and chemical stability compared with natural stones.
