FIELD: transport, distribution of gases.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to underground storage of liquefied natural gas to accumulate and supply it at pear consumption periods. Underground storage is made up of reinforced concrete tank 5 installed on foundation 3 of compacted soil and heat isolation interlayer 4 and coated by yieldable interlayer 6 on outside surface and heat- and hydro-isolation layers 7 and 8. LNG UGS is provided with service pit 9 extending from reinforced concrete tank 2 onto surface, pipelines 10, tight hatches 11 and staircase 12. Tank top surface is covered by layer 13 of light heat insulation material. Similar constant-curvature elements 14 with conjugate surfaces 15 represent reinforced concrete units of wafer structure jointed together, outside the tank, by external flanging and clamping threaded joints via seal gaskets.
EFFECT: simplified LNG UGS construction, reduced costs, higher safety.
