FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: device has an electroacoustic transducer, a measurement and recording unit, a vertically fitted acoustic line filled with liquid at the end of which the electroacoustic transducer is fitted. The reflector at the end of the acoustic line is in form of an elbow with a right angle between the sides and a horizontal area between them, which is aligned relative the acoustic line in such a way that, part of radiation from the electroacoustic transducer falls on the horizontal area at right angles, and part on the side of the elbow at 45° to the surface.

EFFECT: high reliability, high accuracy and easier measurement of the level of liquids in reservoirs, including underground reservoirs.
