MULTI-OPERATION MECHANISM WITH AUTOMATIC WITHDRAWAL AT WAY END Russian patent published in 2011 - IPC A61B17/68

Abstract RU 2419392 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine and can be used for endoscopic operations. Surgical instrument for application of staples and cutting, suitable, in particular, for endoscopic operations, contains handle, which performs separate closing and triggering movements for actuating end effector. In particular, handle performs several start operations in order to weaken value of force, necessary for start (i.e. sewing with staples and cutting) by means of end effector. Composite gear reduces longitudinal size of handle, however, ensures rigid strong construction in erect state for start. Mechanism with friction tightening eliminates sticking in bringing into movement of said erect composite bar in case of interaction with mechanism of reverse lock, which prevents release of closing lever during start. External indicator plays role of feedback for presenting to surgeon information about degree of start advance, as well as provides possibility of manual withdrawal.

EFFECT: surgical instrument for application of staples has multi-operation drive start mechanism, which is automatically withdrawn after complete start advance, but is not withdrawn accidentally between start operations.
