FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to electrically powered surgical instruments. Surgical instrument comprises a shaft, an end effector and a housing. End effector extends distally from the shaft. Housing extends proximally from the shaft. Housing comprises a motor and power supply. Motor is configured to generate at least one displacement to actuate the end effector. Power supply is configured to provide power to the surgical instrument. Power supply includes a casing, a data storage unit and a deactivation mechanism. Deactivation mechanism is configured to interrupt access to data stored in the data storage unit, and the deactivation mechanism is configured to start when the casing is damaged. Power supply for use with a surgical instrument, the power supply comprising a casing, at least one battery, a data storage unit and a controller. At least one rechargeable battery is at least partially located inside the casing, and at least one rechargeable battery is configured to provide power to the surgical instrument. Controller is associated with a data storage unit, wherein the controller is configured to prevent access to the data stored in the data storage unit in the event of damage to the casing. In the second embodiment, the surgical instrument comprises said shaft, end effector and housing. Housing comprises said motor and power supply. Power supply is configured to supply power to the motor. Power supply includes a casing, a battery pack and a deactivation mechanism. Deactivation mechanism is configured to deactivate the battery in the event of damage to the casing.
EFFECT: use of inventions makes it possible to prevent unauthorised use of a surgical instrument by an end user.
