FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to tampon-applicator used for feminine hygiene during menstruation. Tampon applicator contains the first element, able to hold tampon and having form suitable for introduction into user's body cavity, and the second element, installed in the first element telescopically and with possibility to move out for pushing out tampon, held in the first element. The first element contains external surface, longitudinal axis, thickness, measured perpendicularly to longitudinal axis, end for pushing out tampon. The first element additionally contains region for grasping, which includes the first rib and the second rib, going from external surface of the first element, in which the first and the second ribs, each, in fact, surround the first element in direction, in fact, perpendicular to longitudinal axis of the first element. The second rib is located at a distance from the first rib in such a way that user's finger tip can be placed between the first rib and the second rib. The distance between the first rib and the second rib forms a region for grasping for tampon-applicator, whose thickness equals or is greater than the thickness of the first element outside region for grasping. The first and the second ribs, each, have thickness, measured perpendicularly to longitudinal axis of the first element, which is greater than both the first element and region for grasping thickness, diametre of each of the first and the second ribs being greater on from about 1 mm to about 4.0 mm than the first element diametre. As a version, region for grasping additionally contains protruding pattern, going for the distance between 0.25 mm and 0.75 mm above the first surface of region for grasping. Object of the invention also is tampon-applicator, containing at the end for pushing out the first element a tip for introduction, which is dome-shaped and contains, at least, 3 petals. Each petal is separated from other petals from both sides, and separation of each of petals from the other is not parallel with respect to longitudinal axis of the first element, when petals form the shape of dome.

EFFECT: protection against slipping during tampon-applicator introduction and reduction of probability of jamming sensitive body structures in vagina region.
