FIELD: performing operations.

SUBSTANCE: press for forming an absorbent tampon workpiece into a shaped absorbing tampon, which includes a central cavity arranged and configured to receive the absorbent tampon workpiece having a front section and a back section. Main longitudinal axis of the press passes in the middle of the central cavity, and a plurality of penetrating punches are arranged radially around the said main longitudinal axis. Each penetrating punch has a pressing surface at least on a fragment of its side facing the central cavity. Press comprises at least one cam for actuation of multiple penetrating punches. Besides, multiple penetrating punches contain at least one penetrating puncheon having pressing surface with the first shaped longitudinal profile, and at least one penetrating puncheon having pressing surface with the second shaped longitudinal profile. Described also is a shaped tampon and use of such a shaped tampon.

EFFECT: tampon press and shaped tampon are disclosed.
