FIELD: printing industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a protective film to protect documents. The protective film is applied onto a document paper. The film contains a substrate, one or several protective symbols or functional layers. Symbols or layers are arranged on the substrate and are equipped with a protective layer in the form of a protective varnish or a tape, or with an adhesive coating. The protective symbol or layer are not on a surface bordering the document paper. The protective film may contain an intermediate layer with proper adhesion. Functional layers are arranged as solid or partial. Functional layers or symbols have optical, electroconductive and/or magnetic properties.
EFFECT: provision of a reliable protection against falsifications and manipulation.
