FIELD: printing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an achromatic security element for valuable documents, such as banknotes, cards, ID documents and similar documents, as well as a method for producing such security elements, valuable documents comprising said security elements. Achromatic security element comprises thermoplastic or radiation-curable polymer layer, where said layer contains embossing from diffusely reflecting non-diffraction microstructures, wherein microstructures have dimensions which are located outside wavelength range of visible light in non-diffraction mode, and provide non-periodicity of surface topography, so that incident light is diffusively reflected or scattered on statistical surface inhomogeneities.
EFFECT: disclosed is a achromatic security element for valuable documents.
