FIELD: instrument making.

SUBSTANCE: portable force setter is connected to a base, vertical loads are applied with the help of a force-introducing link of the force setter to a weight-receiving platform, and measured using a reference sensor. Measured values of applied loads are compared to the weight bridge readings, and the weight bridge error is identified, the force-introducing link of the force setter is placed between the weight-receiving site of the weight bridge and the base. A weight equal to the upper value of the specified loading range, for instance, the highest limit of the weight bridge weighing, is placed on the weight-receiving site of the weight bridge. Then force values that load and unload the weight-receiving site are specified using the force setter.

EFFECT: higher mobility and simplification of devices that realise this method, increased accuracy by application of a compressing, but not stretching force, to the foundation, reduced costs for periodical inspections of the weight bridge, especially large-weight ones, vehicle and wagon scales.
