FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: here is disclosed procedure for detection of defects in polymer pipes, particularly, in pipes out of cross-linked polyethylene. Inspected pipe (2) in case (1) consisting of middle part (3) and flanges (4A; 4B) is subjected to effect of electric field created with capacitive pole-dipole procedure. Corresponding defect (13) causes measuring signals used for marking or removal of defect (13). According to the procedure electric field is created in middle part (3) of the case surrounding the inspected pipe. The middle part contains tubular capacitor electrode (5) placed inside, at least two parallel tubular measuring electrodes (6A, 6B) and the third electrode as transmitting antenna (9) in essence motionlessly retained in inspected pipe (2). Also here is disclosed the device for implementation of the above described procedure for detection of defects in polymer pipes, particularly in pipes out of cross-linked polyethylene.
EFFECT: reliable detection of defects along all periphery of pipe and through all thickness of pipe regardless from pipe transparency; safety and efficiency of procedure.
