FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: oil sample is taken and divided into equal portions, each of which is heated at atmospheric pressure with condensation of vapour and separation of the condensate. For each subsequent portion of oil sample, the test temperature is raised by a constant value, after which the coefficient of absorption of light flux is determined, as well as the value of the evaporated mass as a difference between the mass of the sample before and after testing. The coefficient of evaporation is determined as the ratio of the evaporated mass of the oil sample to the remaining mass and the coefficient of resistance to thermal decomposition is determined from this ratio. A curve of the coefficient of resistance to thermal decomposition versus test temperature is plotted, and temperature stability is determined from the value of coefficient of resistance to thermal decomposition depending on the temperature.
EFFECT: increased information content of determination.
