SUBSTANCE: device 10 is equipped with a unit 50 of small coverage radius for wireless communication with a group of nearby devices 10a-10c, substantially, an omnidirectional antenna 52, connected with a specified unit 50 of small coverage radius for substantially the omnidirectional communication, and at least one device 54, 24 of directional communication for directed communication. Besides, the method includes the following stages: activation of a directed communication device 54, 24; direction of the directed communication device 54, 24 at the nearby device 10a; connection of a portable device 10 with a selected device 10a by means of the device 54, 24 of the directed communication; communication with a selected device 10a via the specified substantially omnidirectional antenna 52 after the specified connection.
EFFECT: provision of improved wireless connection of a portable device with a selected device in a group of nearby devices.
