FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary medicine, namely to endocrinology, and can be used for production of more accurate diagnoses when examining calves. Method for diagnostics of thyroid and thymus pathology in calves includes carrying out under local anesthesia in animal biopsy of thyroid gland lobes, paired cervical and thoracic unpaired fraction of thymus. Selection of biomaterial is carried out by using a needle for cutting biopsy of various organs, introduced through preliminarily introduced trocar. Trocar is introduced by puncture on sagittal line using infiltration anesthesia with fixation of animal in a standing position with a slight turn of the head aside and up dorsolaterally.

EFFECT: development of safe and anatomically correct way of sampling biomaterial for in vivo histological study in calves.
